Evolved from a sketch by Brent Green for his animation sculpture 'To Many Men Strange Fates Are Given,' these acoustic horns have axes that follow Cornu's spiral and flare along the mathematical curve known as the tractrix. Their interior shape improves the sound of small embedded loudspeakers, and a touch of asymmetry between left and right adds visual intrigue. Listening to them is a highly spatial experience, neither like headphones nor like loudspeakers, but somewhere between the two.

This work used a free Grasshopper plug-in by Mårten Nettelbladt to generate the Cornu spirals.
